The Alderson Broaddus men's basketball team has signed 6'4" guard/forward Jalen Martin from Jackson College in Michigan. Martin will have two years of eligibility with the Battlers. He averaged 11.6 points per game and 5 rebounds per game this past season for the Jets which compete at the junior college level. Jalen scored in double-figures in 16 games this past season. He had a season-best 31 points against Mid Michigan where he was 12 of 16 from the floor including 6 of 8 from beyond the arc. Martin is a native of Chicago, Illinois where he attended Thornwood High School.We have linked below Jalen Martin's freshman season highlight video from Jackson College. As you can see, Jalen is a swing player that can shoot the ball from the outside but is excellent at taking his defender off the dribble and finishing around the basket. He also demonstrates good court vision as a passer in the half-court set as well as off the dribble.
