Community College which is located in North Platte, Nebraska. The 6'7" native of Toledo, OH signed with the Battlers over the summer and will have two years of eligibility starting this season for ABU. Mitchell averaged 7 points and 4 rebounds a game last season for the Knights. Mitchell brings much needed depth to several different positions for the ABU. At 215 pounds, he has the ability to post up if needed. But much of his video tape shows a versatile game that can be used at a forward/wing position. He does have the ability to step out and hit a three-point basket if needed. But Mitchell's best game will be to turn, face the defender and pull up for a mid-range jumper or drive to the basket and use his size to gain a high-percentage shot near the basket. His video tape from high school also shows a two-guard ability to both handle and pass the ball in the open floor. This could be very ideal in the Battlers early offense that occurs off transition.
Michael's played his high school basketball at Start High School in Toledo, Ohio. He averaged 12.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per game as a senior at Start. Battler Beat has linked his high school AAU highlight video below.
